National Women’s Health & Fitness Day
Chapa-De Indian Health Auburn Grass Valley | Medical Clinic
September 26th is National Women’s Health & Fitness Day. Today we would like to recognize all of Chapa-De’s female patients and staff. We thank you for the important role that you play in our daily lives!
We also want to use this blog to talk specifically to the women whose schedules are packed with work. Women that spend their day dropping off and picking up kids from school and sports. Women that spend their time caring for the family and household. We understand how hard it is to find time for yourself. We want to provide you with some tips and tricks to stay healthy and in shape while keeping up with your busy schedules.
What are some easy workouts to do at home?
We all know how it hard it can be to find the time to work out. Our days are filled from morning to night. Carving out time to go to the gym can be near impossible. Here are some easy and quick workouts that you can do at home:
- Squats
- Hip-raises
- Sit-ups & planks
- Jump rope
- Learn a variety of yoga moves
- If you can, wake up early to take a jog or walk around the neighborhood.

What are some healthy foods and snacks to take on the go?
It’s hard to eat healthy and have a well-balanced diet when you are driving kids around or spending all day at work. These are some low-cost snacks to bring with you and eat throughout the day:
- Nuts – raw almonds are a great source of protein and have the good fat our bodies need.
- Fruits & Veggies – carrots, apples, and bananas are just some of the easy pack-and-go foods that you can bring with you on the run.
- Oatmeal – a box of oatmeal is great breakfast option to keep at home or at the office. It’s great for people with high cholesterol and takes very little time to prepare. Try adding honey for a little flavor.
