According to the CDC, asthma is a disease that affects your lungs. People with asthma have asthma attacks. They are triggered by something bothering their lungs. Some common triggers are:

  • Outdoor air pollution
  • Pets
  • Mold
  • Infections like the flu

Symptoms of asthma include:

  • Wheezing
  • Breathlessness
  • Chest tightness
  • Trouble breathing
  • Coughing at night or early in the morning
