Auburn, CA – Two local students, Rochelle Mercado a graduate of CORE Charter High School and Tani Thomsen a graduate of Placer High School, have been selected to each receive a $1,000 scholarship through the April Moore Memorial Scholarship Program.

Chapa-De was founded in 1974 after a study showed American Indians in California experienced a higher incidence of diabetes, depression, and substance abuse. American Indians were also found to have higher rates of infant mortality and drastically shorter life expectancy rates. This study also revealed that American Indians had not had regular access to healthcare services,
AUBURN MEDICARE
Re-introduced in September of 2015, 70% of our Auburn medicare and health services center has been remodeled and expanded to better serve American Indian, Medicare, and Medi-Cal patients! The new campus is designed around efficiency and accessibility for our clients, and now features more exam rooms.

Auburn, CA – Chapa-De Indian Health is now accepting applications for a new scholarship, the April Moore Memorial Scholarship, which will be awarded annually to a an American Indian student planning to pursue a career in healthcare.
