At Chapa-De, we love helping parents during their pregnancy journey. We know how important routine checkups, communication, and education are on the road to parenthood, especially for expecting mothers. That is why we offer a wide range of pre and postnatal services to help mothers have healthy pregnancies.
Prenatal Services
We offer prenatal health services at both our Auburn and Grass Valley health centers. Having a team like Chapa-De monitor you from the early stages of pregnancy through birth is important for both you and your baby. We provide quality care in a convenient, supportive and healthy environment. Our extensive list of services ensures you will be cared for from the minute you find out you are pregnant all the way through the birth of your baby and the first year of your baby’s life.
Some of our prenatal services include:
- Tests to check your health and the health of your baby
- Information about pregnancy, child birth, baby care and breastfeeding
- Help with cutting down or quitting smoking, drinking or using drugs
- Counseling on problems or family issues you may have
- Postpartum care to assure that you recover well after the baby is born
- Newborn care to assure your baby a healthy start in life
- Future family planning
Baby Luv Program
In addition to the services listed above, our Baby Luv Program at our Auburn Health Center keeps mothers motivated and educated during pregnancy.
The features of this program include:
- Classes and one-on-one information about pregnancy, child birth, baby care and breastfeeding
- Referral to community agencies that can provide additional help and services
- Information about where to go for financial help, health insurance like Medi-Cal or food programs like WIC or local food banks
- Help with maintaining a healthy diet
Our Baby Luv program also offers incentive points for completing regular pregnancy appointments and educational classes. These incentive points can be used in our Baby Luv store for baby clothing, blankets, monitors, boppy nursing pillows and much more. Cynthia Martinez is our Baby Luv Program Coordinator and a Certified Childbirth Educator. Cynthia has been with our team for 2 years now and her mission, like ours, is to help serve the underserved.
As a specialist in prenatal care, she helps educate patients and soon to be mothers about the journey of pregnancy and what to expect during each trimester, leading up to birth. Cynthia says, “Every mother and baby benefit from additional support and services during the pregnancy. The more knowledge a mother has, the more power she has – less fear, less anxiety and more confidence.” Cynthia empowers mothers to know as much as possible when it comes to their pregnancy and birth, so when a doctor speaks to them, they understand and are not overwhelmed.
With a variety of prenatal services and Cynthia’s help, Chapa-De is proud to be able to help our patients have a successful and happy pregnancy, as well as a happy and healthy baby.
Exciting News!
OBGYNs with Camelia Women’s Health now provide prenatal appointments at Chapa-De’s Auburn Health Center. Historically, Chapa-De prenatal patients would have appointments at Camelia Women’s Health between 35 weeks of pregnancy through delivery. Now Chapa-De patients can continue to receive care through their entire pregnancy in the comfort of their health home at Chapa-De.
We have also added a highly qualified RN Perinatal Case Manager to our Prenatal Care Department to provide more care and support for women during their pregnancy and through the first year of their baby’s life.
