Substance Use Disorder Support & Services
Chapa-De Indian Health Auburn Grass Valley | Medical Clinic
The opioid epidemic continues to cause staggering harm to individuals and families. This is happening across the United States and affects many local community members. Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is a no-fault disease that can be treated. Chapa-De offers programs that help patients to heal from trauma and addiction.
Medication Assisted Treatment
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) focuses specifically on opioid addiction. The program aims to help patients overcome opioid addiction by using medication alongside counseling and healing practices. The treatment eliminates opioid cravings and withdrawal symptoms while helping patients regain clear thinking and functioning.
Some elements of the MAT program that patients can expect are:
- A highly experienced and caring staff
- Counseling and weekly group meetings
- 3 Treatment Phase Program
- Suboxone® and Narcan® Prescriptions

Red Road Talking Circle
Substance Use Disorder occurs when alcohol and/or drugs are continually abused and cause major impairments. This not only includes health problems, but also includes the inability to meet daily life responsibilities. Alcohol is the most common substance that is abused.
It is not always evident right away that someone has developed substance use disorder. Some symptoms to look out for include:
- Loss of control
- Mood changes and emotional instability
- Sleeplessness
- Angry and secretive behavior

Overcoming substance abuse is challenging and Chapa-De is here to offer non-judgemental and compassionate care for all patients. There is no “simple fix” for substance use disorder, but Chapa-De’s SUD specialists will help patients find the best treatment plan for their specific needs.
Chapa-De also offers the Red Road to Wellbriety Talking Circle for added support and teachings based on native healing principles. This group is open to all patients looking for support on their journey towards recovery. It is a place for patients to connect to one another, based on teachings from Red Road to Wellbriety of the White Bison Recovery Movement.
