Do you have a woman in your life that inspires you? That you’re proud of? Who helps you succeed? Does a mom, sister, aunt, grandmothers, partner, or dear friend come to mind? Today is International Women’s Day and we want to make sure we all take time today to appreciate the women in our lives and to celebrate the achievements of all women. We also want to take this opportunity to celebrate the many women on our staff at Chapa-De Indian Health.

International Women’s Day 2019

This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is #BalanceforBetter. The main idea behind this theme is to work towards creating a more gender-balanced world, where women and men are treated equally in every way. At Chapa-De, we make sure that we empower each and every one of our employees, fostering a culture that is open-minded and forward-thinking. With equality at our foundation, we are lucky to have many amazing women (and men) as a part of our team. From our CEO, to Optometrists, to Nutritionists, and more, the staff of Chapa-De are all working together to deliver top-quality healthcare services and to improve the health of our communities.

The purpose of International Women’s Day is to acknowledge the differences in how men and women are currently treated around the world, and then motivate people to bridge those gaps. At Chapa-De we are very lucky to work in a place that encourages and supports all employees equally, but many workplaces are not like that. That is why it is important to use days like this to remind women that they are just as strong, just as smart, and just as qualified.
