Chapa-De Indian Health Provides Free Health Screenings to Over 60 Individuals at Grass Valley Healthy Family Fun Day

Grass Valley, CA –Chapa-De Indian Health is proud to announce that its Grass Valley Health Center provided over 60 free health screenings to local community members at its Healthy Family Fun Day held on Saturday, November 5.

This event was open to the entire community and offered:

  • Free Dental Screenings for Children and Adults
  • Free Fluoride Varnish Treatment for Children
  • Free Diabetes Risk Assessments & A1C Testing
  • Free Vision and Hearing Screenings for Children
  • Free Blood Pressure Checks
  • Free Cholesterol Testing

Guests were also invited to enjoy clinic tours, kids’ activities, face painting and healthy snacks while learning about the health services available at Chapa-De for both American Indian and non-native community members. Local community organizations also supported the event by attending to provide information about the services and resources available to families within the community. These partner organizations included;

  • Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Coalition
  • Freed Center for Independent Living
  • KidZKount (Head Start)

This is the second Healthy Family Fun Day held by Chapa-De Indian Health. The first event was held at its Auburn Clinic in August. Chapa-De will host more community health and resource fairs in the Spring of 2017.
