This spring we encourage you to stay on top of your children’s health! It can be very easy to fall behind on important health services. This includes annual well visits, immunizations, and dental exams. Regular check-ups help children and teens stay well!
Why It’s Important
We recommend that everyone meet with their core healthcare team each year. Adolescence is an important time for growth and development. It is extra important for children and teens to stay up to date on their annual visits. These annual visits can help to:
- Identify and treat concerns early
- Monitor physical development
- Promote emotional health
- Help prevent illnesses with free immunizations
Types of Annual Appointments
There are different types of annual appointments that can help children and teens stay healthy! Here at Chapa-De we offer:
Well Child Checks
A medical appointment designed to promote physical and emotional health and wellness.
Sports Physicals
Physical exam to help ensure youth are physically capable of safely participating in sports.
Dental Exams & Cleanings
Children and teens should receive a dental exam and cleaning at least once a year. This can help improve and maintain oral health.
Immunizations
There is a recommended schedule for children and teens to receive regular vaccines. From the Tdap to the HPV vaccine. We can also schedule COVID-19 vaccines for anyone ages 5 and up.
The FDA has authorized the use of the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5 and up. We are encouraging all our patients to protect their children ages 5+ years old from COVID-19. The vaccine for children has been thoroughly tested and reviewed by the FDA and the CDC. It is safe and effective at preventing COVID-19.
