Supporting Youth Mental Health

School is now back in session! This can be an exciting time for many young people. They have the chance to start learning new things and to reconnect with friends, yet the transition back into the school structure can be hard. Our children can face many challenges both academically and socially that can affect their stress levels. It is important to be conscious of our youth’s mental health and to support their needs.

Behavioral Health Services at Chapa-DeHow to help support your child's mental health: Schedule dedicated time to spend together
Teach your child to prioritize self-care
Help them establish and maintain a daily routine
Encourage friendships and age-appropriate connections
Encourage breaks from social media and television

Chapa-De has a team of psychiatrists and therapists who are here to help you and your family. Our licensed and experienced professionals can address behavioral and emotional problems in children and teens. They are trained to recognize and understand the unique challenges that youth face at school and in their communities.

Talk to your child’s medical provider today to learn more about these services.

Local Resources

Resources are available right in your child’s very own school. If your child is having a hard time, school counselors are specialized in your child’s age group. You may make an appointment with your school’s counselor by contacting the front office. Many schools have wellness centers and other systems in place to provide support for their students. The counselors can also provide additional information about local resources that may be available.
