It’s that time of year again. Time to start planning for the school year ahead and make sure that your children are up to date on their vaccinations and well child checks. While many schools are still deciding if they will host classes in-person, online or a mix of both, it is still important to plan ahead for your children’s health and safety.
Vaccinations
Studies show that childhood immunization rates have fallen in California during the COVID-19 pandemic. This means that, as our communities begin to reopen, children will become susceptible to illnesses that can be prevented.
Don’t wait to vaccinate your child.
It’s easy to schedule an appointment or visit our weekly immunization clinics:
- Option 1 – Call our clinics to schedule a well child check with your child’s Chapa-De medical provider. Most well child visits are currently offered thru a video visit followed by an in-person vaccination appointment.
- Option 2 – Visit either of our locations during our weekly Immunization Clinics. Appointments need to be made in advance by calling our offices directly. Immunizations are free to Chapa-De patients age 18 and under – clinic times can be found HERE.

Well Child Checks
Scheduling a well child check with your child’s primary care provider is easier than ever with our new video visits. Receive care from the comfort of your home. Share any current concerns and discuss how to prevent future illness – including health tips for the school year and additional COVID-19 information before sending your children back to school.

Stay in the know about COVID-19 Also, remember to talk to your children about these important things to protect them against COVID-19 and invite them to share their questions and fears:
- Frequent hand washing
- Social Distancing
- Covering your nose and mouth when your cough or sneeze
- Wearing a face cover
