COVID-19 Vaccines at Chapa-De

Chapa-De and the COVID-19 Vaccine

Chapa-De is receiving COVID-19 vaccine from Indian Health Service (IHS). We chose to receive vaccine from IHS versus the state of California because American Indian people are being prioritized for vaccination to help promote health equity and to get vaccine to the communities who are experiencing higher rates of COVID-19.

We are receiving a very limited supply of the Moderna vaccine. We have made vaccines available to our healthcare workers and are also vaccinating our high risk tribal community members and American Indian patients. We are following guidance from the department of health and the CDC based on age and other risk factors to prioritize who receives these limited doses.
