You are not alone if you are concerned about your alcohol use or that of a loved one. Alcohol is commonly misused in the United States and rates of alcohol use increased during the pandemic. Many people turn to alcohol to cope with stress and other mental health concerns, which can make these issues worse. Sadly, excessive alcohol use is also a leading cause of preventable death in our country. The good news is that help is available.

What is Alcohol Use Disorder?

Symptoms of Alcohol Use Disorder include trouble stopping or controlling their alcohol use, or when alcohol use impacts someone’s work, health, and relationships. Alcohol Use Disorder can range from mild to severe. It is a medical condition and it can be treated.
