It is not too late – A Free Flu Vaccine Can Still Help!

Chapa-De Indian Health Auburn Grass Valley | Medical Clinic

It is National Influenza Vaccination Week and right now is the perfect time to get a free annual flu vaccine if you have not already. Many people are getting sick in our communities. Being vaccinated is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your loved ones. It is not too late! An annual flu vaccine is recommended for everyone 6 months and older to prevent flu illness and possible serious complications.

The Importance of Flu Shots

Millions of people get the flu each year. Young children, people with certain chronic health conditions, pregnant people, and elders are especially at risk of serious flu complications. Even people who are young and healthy can have severe symptoms and spread the virus to others who are at higher risk.

Getting a flu shot can lower the risk of getting the flu by about half. At Chapa-De, we encourage everyone age 6 months and over to get their flu shot as soon as possible. Getting a flu shot every year is the best way to protect yourself and those around you from the flu virus.
