Eating Smart, Being Active: Join Our Newest Class!
The start of a new year is a great time to commit to your own health and wellness. Establishing healthy habits now can help promote wellbeing all year. Eating Smart, Being Active is Chapa-De’s newest health and wellness class. The eight-week class starts in late January and focuses on eating healthy, being physically active and managing stress.
Eating Smart, Being Active
Prioritizing your health is a very common new year’s resolution. But reaching your goals alone can be hard. Chapa-De is here to help with Eating Smart, Being Active. This eight-week group class is open to all patients. It is designed for anyone who wants to improve their health through diet and exercise. The class includes support from Chapa-De team members and from your peers. Working together can help you succeed in your health and wellness goals.
It is important to be proactive with your health. Being mindful of your health can help with:
– Managing ongoing conditions
– Preventing future health issues
– Identifying new concerns
The class includes education and support for a range of topics:
– Nutrition
– Exercise
– Stress relief
– And more
When & Where
The Eating Smart, Being Active class is offered throughout the year at both the Auburn and Grass Valley Health Center. The next 8-week class course will begin in late January at the Auburn Health Center.

Diabetes Prevention Program
Chapa-De’s Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is designed for patients looking for longer-term support. It is a year-long program that helps Chapa-De patients to avoid the onset of diabetes and to live healthier. Participants learn about eating healthy, being physically active and managing stress while attending weekly classes for 10 weeks, then 6 bi-weekly classes, followed by monthly sessions to help maintain weight loss and healthy lifestyles.
Participants in the program also get free access to exercise equipment and our lending library with DVDs and books about nutrition and fitness.
The program is open to all Chapa-De patients over the age of 18, who do not have a diagnosis of Diabetes.
