Back to School
Chapa-De Indian Health Auburn Grass Valley | Medical Clinic
The end of summer is quickly approaching, and kids will be back in school before we know it! Now is the perfect time to schedule your children’s immunizations, well child checks, and sports physicals to get them ready for a new school year.
Immunizations
Keeping your child up to date on their vaccines can help protect their health during the school year. Depending on the age, regular childhood immunizations can include:
- Flu vaccine
- Tdap vaccine
- HPV vaccine
- Meningococcal vaccine
- Hepatitis vaccine
- Chickenpox vaccine
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccines
Chapa-De also highly recommends children age 6-months and older be vaccinated against COVID-19 to help ensure a healthy school year. Our Medical Providers have carefully reviewed the vaccine data and agree the available vaccines are safe and effective. Chapa-De offers the Moderna vaccine for ages 6 months to 5 years and the Pfizer vaccines for children 5 years to 18 years. Learn more about COVID-19 vaccines for children HERE.
Well Child Checks
Well Child Checks are a chance for children’s medical providers to monitor their growth and development. As children get older, the appointments change to fit their needs. However, the goal is always to:
- Detect any new issues
- Prevent any new healthcare concerns
- Promote health and wellness
- Provide information about expected milestones and upcoming changes
We encourage parents to write down any questions and bring them to the appointment. Providers can help parents feel informed and confident about their child’s health and wellness.
