Meet Our Team – Samantha Manzano, NP
Chapa-De Indian Health Auburn Grass Valley | Medical Clinic
We are excited to welcome Samantha Manzano to the Chapa-De team! Samantha is a Nurse Practitioner at Chapa-De Indian Health in Auburn. She provides family medicine and primary care services.
Samantha is a new provider at Chapa-De, but she chose to pursue a career in healthcare at a young age. She was inspired by the healthcare workers she met, and knew it was her calling. “In high school I was enrolled in a healthcare program. It allowed us to visit local hospitals and learn all about various departments and roles,” she said. “This is where I met a nurse practitioner in an oncology unit. The care and compassion she showed her patients was inspiring. From then on I knew that was what I wanted to work towards.” Her experiences created a passion for working especially with the older adult population.
Chapa-De offers quality compassionate care to all of our patients. We want our team members to hold the same values and goals. Samantha chose to join the Chapa-De team because of our mission. She said, “The mission statement at Chapa-De is admirable. I wanted to find a place that holds the same goals as I do.”
Whole person care, or holistic care, is practiced throughout all of the different departments at our health centers. We believe in getting to know and caring for patients as a whole, not just treating individual issues. Samantha said, “I always like to provide holistic care. It is important to not only address the physical concerns, but to make sure to pay attention to the whole person, mentally, socially, and physically.”
A major aspect of whole person care is teamwork. Providers often work together across departments to ensure patients are wholly cared-for. For Samantha, she said, “Teamwork is very important for a successful outcome. Chapa-De has so many resources on board for patients. It is a priority to ensure that each patient is connected to all that they could need.”
Samantha joined the Chapa-De team earlier this year. She is excited about building relationships with patients and serving the community. She said, “Working at Chapa-De allows me to help an underserved community. Access to primary care can be an obstacle for some. I hope to help close that gap.”
Samantha graduated from Samuel Merritt University. She is Board Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
