Chapa-De partners with Placer Food Bank to ensure patients have enough healthy food to eat.
Do you know someone who is struggling to put food on the table? Do you want to learn about local food resources? Join Us!
Placer Food Bank’s CalFresh Outreach Team visits Chapa-De every other week in Grass Valley and once a week in Auburn to answer your questions and help fill out CalFresh applications. They also have a current list of all the food banks/pantries/closets in Nevada, Placer and El Dorado Counties that they are happy to share.
You can find them at our Grass Valley Health Center every other Monday (9:00am-1:00pm) in the lobby.
They also visit our Auburn Health Center on most Thursdays from 10:00am-12:00pm & 1:00pm-2:30pm (at lunch from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm). They alternate between our Medical and Dental Building Lobbies.
What is CalFresh?
• CalFresh can help families and individuals put healthy and nutritious food on the table.
• Most households that receive CalFresh get more than $200 each month.
• You never have to pay back the benefits if you are eligible for them.
• The EBT “electronic benefit transfer” card may be used at most grocery stores, discount chains, farmers’ markets, and neighborhood stores.
To apply for CalFresh or for more information, please contact Placer Food Bank at 916-783-0481 ext. 111.
